About
Know what your camera will show before anyone else sees it. Simple Camera App gives you a private place to check your webcam before a call, class, presentation, or stream. Available for macOS, Windows, and Linux, it discovers connected cameras and shows their reported resolutions and frame rates. Video stays on your computer: the app does not record or upload it, and no account is required. Use one camera at a time in its default mode for free. The optional one-time Simple Camera Pro upgrade adds simultaneous camera windows and selection of reported resolution and frame-rate modes.
From the founder
Robert LadstätterWho is Simple Camera App for?
People checking a webcam before a call, online class, presentation or stream, and anyone comparing connected cameras on macOS, Windows or Linux.
What problem does Simple Camera App solve?
A camera can be pointing at the wrong place, poorly lit or using an unexpected mode. Simple Camera App gives you a private live preview before you open your calling or recording app. You still choose and check the camera in that app.
How is Simple Camera App different from the alternatives?
It is a dedicated desktop camera viewer. Video stays on your computer, with no recording or upload. Pro lets you compare simultaneous camera views and select the resolution and frame-rate modes each camera reports; available modes depend on the camera, driver and operating system.
How much does Simple Camera App cost?
Free discovers every connected camera and lets you use any one at a time in its device-default mode. Simple Camera Pro is an optional one-time purchase for simultaneous camera windows and selection of reported resolution and frame-rate modes. No subscription.
